Laboratory
The Surface Treatment Laboratory (LST or LaTS – Laboratório de Tratamento de Superfícies) is a scientific research environment with expertise in surface treatment and thin film preparation using chemical, electrochemical, and plasma-assisted processes. These techniques are applied across various technological fields, such as photovoltaic solar cells, (photo)catalysts, the metal-mechanical industry, and aerospace engineering sectors. More recently, the team has also been working on biodiesel development through plasma-assisted biocatalysis techniques. The laboratory is located in the rooms L419 and L420 at UFSC Joinville.
LST was officially established in 2015 and is registered in the Directory of Research Groups of Brazil as a research group in Surface Technology, Coatings, and Nanostructures. The laboratory is also registered on the MCTI National Research Infrastructure Platform, and its activities are linked to research projects carried out in the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering and Sciences (Pós-ECM).
