Master’s Thesis Defense (3# Pós-ECM)

Student Augusto Amancio dos Santos from the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering and Sciences at UFSC Joinville defended his master’s thesis titled “Avaliação da atividade catalítica de filmes de TiO2 dopado Nb2O5 depositados por spin coating” (in Portuguese). The work, which contributes to the development of materials for solar cells and catalysts, was supervised by Professor Diego Alexandre Duarte and co-supervised by Professor Rafael Gallina Delatorre. The examination committee was composed of Professors Diego Alexandre Duarte, Dianclen do Rosário Irala (Católica de Santa Catarina University Center), Francisco Alfaro (UFSC Joinville), and Derce de Oliveira Souza Recouvreu (UFSC Joinville). Undergraduate research student Luiz Eduardo Prince Goehr (ITI-A scholarship holder) presented his research project “Modeling the magnetic field of magnetron sputtering systems” during the V Curitiba Summer School of Physics, organized by the Physics Department of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). The presented works can be reviewed in the event’s abstract booklet. Luiz’s work is part of a CNPq-funded project aimed at constructing a chamber for depositing thin films applied in the solar sector.
